Delicious, fresh food. Very great selection. Only the two menus are irritating. But: there are lots of goodies on both. Friendly and attentive service

Very very very nice ! Food is super fresh which of course makes it delicious ! Right in the city center it is the perfect place to eat Muscheln in Riesling or any fish on the menu. Absolutely recommend !

Unfriendly staff as well as outrageous. To look at me condescendingly because of my appearance and to refuse to wash my face in a form of disrespect, although I politely asked for it, is in my opinion rude and impudent

It was our first time eating here together. And as I was used to (as an old Meenzer boy), the food was fantastic. It is always worth a visit to feast on delicious fish. And in my opinion it belongs to Mainz as much as the cathedral.

Eat at the counter at lunchtime, you can pick anything from the case and they'll deep or pan fry on demand - always delicious. Done inside for dinner and you get big portions of tasty fish or seasonal specials like mussels or matjes. The salmon on the salmon salad was perfect!

I was the first in the restaurant FischJackob and I liked it very much. Can recommend it.

Tasty prepared with fresh fish neatly. The dishes are a good mix of home-style and upscale cuisine. A good alternative in the warmer months is the neighboring fish shop, where you can eat a delicious fried fish quickly and easily.

The restaurant was small with some outside seating. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I had some white asperagus, salmon, potatoes and hollandaise sauce. Delicious 😋. They also have a Fish store next door where they also make fried fish to go. Yum

Top fresh quality. fluctuating in the preparation. Priced lifted but adjusted if everything fits.

We found this small fish restaurant by chance during a day trip to Mainz. The food was delicious and the waiters very friendly. In addition to the interesting history of this city even the fine lunch would have been worth the trip. Too bad that there is something in Ludwigshafen or the surrounding area.

True German pub

We got a little garden table outside. The waitress came to us quickly, we ordered the menu and the drinks order was placed immediately. We then had time to choose something. It was minestrone with shrimp as a starter and as a main course sea bass fillet small portion with potato salad and the like. Side salad ordered after the drinks have been served. The garden table was clean and with cutlery in the beer mug and salt and the like. Pepper shaker equipped. The drinks were properly poured and cool. The minestrone was good and tasty with the prawns and with the fresh slices of baquett bread. The sea bass fillet was delicious with the potato salad. Only the side salad looked good but the lettuce leaves were very soaked and not at all crisp. Nice service and the food was good except for the salad.

11/10 food, attention it wasn't the best, but the food was really really good.

The best fish bistro in town

Could have been better, maybe I am just boiled by living off the Pacific Coast where fish restaurants or a lot better.

There are 2 Fischrestaurants Jackob and this is the sit-in one I dined in but the fish and potato were just so-so. The other take-away one (I did not try it though) seemed to be better and is cheaper.

We (foreign tourists) were intrigued by the lunch special. At first we didn't trust the "imbiss" impression, partly due to the take-a-way service next door. But inside this small, very liveley restaurant we found delicious fish, tasty wines and good service. The hallmark of a traditional family restaurant. The menu ranges from fish or pasta on a budget to a more ambitious cuisine. Recommended!
